McKinleyville Youth Football and Cheer Scholarship Application
When funds are available, McKinleyville Youth Football and Cheer (MYF) maintains a scholarship fund to provide financial aid to applicants who show a willingness and commitment to participate as an active MYF athlete. The scholarship fund is supported by families, friends and our community through sponsorship, grants, and fundraising. We at MYF believe that any athlete deserves the chance to train and compete in the sport of football and cheer. The scholarship program and funds set forth are for those who otherwise would be unable to participate without financial aid.
Scholarships are seasonal and are set up by two qualifying categories depending on the level of aid required. Scholarships will only be awarded per competition year. Current and new applicants are encouraged to apply before August 1st of that year’s season to be considered for review. Scholarships are awarded based on financial need, demonstration of commitment, teamwork, and family’s willingness to fundraise and volunteer.
Please review this application thoroughly and include all requested information:
Eligibility:
Scholarship 1.
Up to 20% ($50.00) off individual athlete registration fee. Athlete(s) must show proof of enrollment in public assistance program(s).
Scholarship 2.
Annual Athlete registration fee is covered for qualifying year. If your monthly income is at or below the current Medi-Cal Family income qualification levels, you are eligible to apply. Proof of a child's medical or assistance program alone does not meet this requirement. Documentation of the family’s income at the time of application must be made available to qualify.
An athlete who qualifies for Mckinney-Vento services does not need to complete this application. The athlete may request a letter verification from their school district to waive the guardian application process.
MYF may consider additional applicants who provide information on financial limiting factors such as unusual expenses or special or changing financial circumstances.
Scholarship #2 Qualification:
Medi-Cal Income numbers are based on your annual or yearly income. The parent or guardian must provide the required financial documentation.
